Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using PeerPathway Tutors, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using this platform.

User Accounts

Registration

Browsing the tutor directory does not require an account. Tutors must register for an account to create and manage their profiles. If you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

User Conduct

When using our platform, you agree to:

Provide truthful and accurate information
Treat all users with respect and professionalism
Not engage in any harassment, bullying, or inappropriate behavior
Not share or distribute inappropriate content
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Not attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the platform

Tutor Requirements

Tutors on our platform must:

Be current students who have completed the courses they wish to teach
Provide accurate information about their qualifications and experience
Conduct sessions professionally and ethically
Honor commitments made directly with students and families, and communicate promptly about any changes
Maintain appropriate boundaries with students
Not guarantee specific grades or test scores

Rates and Payment

Tutor Rates

Tutors set and display their own rates on their profiles. Some tutors accept community service hours instead of monetary payment, so sessions with those tutors may be free of charge.

Direct Arrangements

All scheduling, rescheduling, and payment is arranged directly between the family and the tutor. PeerPathway Tutors is not a party to those arrangements, does not process payments, and charges no fees for use of the directory.

Safety and Safeguarding

We are committed to providing a safe environment for all users:

All tutors are reviewed as current Emery Weiner students before being listed
We encourage sessions to be conducted in public or monitored spaces
Parents/guardians should supervise sessions involving minors
Any suspicious or inappropriate behavior should be reported immediately
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our safety standards

Intellectual Property

All content on PeerPathway Tutors, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of PeerPathway Tutors or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Limitation of Liability

PeerPathway Tutors provides a free directory connecting students with tutors and receives no payment from users. The directory is provided "as is," and we do not guarantee specific academic outcomes. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for arrangements made directly between families and tutors.

Dispute Resolution

Tutoring sessions are arranged privately between families and tutors, so our role in disputes is limited to tutor conduct, safety, and vetting concerns. If you have such a concern, we encourage you to contact us for assistance. We will make reasonable efforts to help, but we are not a party to scheduling or payment arrangements between users and are not obligated to become involved in user-to-user conflicts.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to the platform or other users.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an announcement on the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
